Alberto Moreno Vs. Brendan Rodgers

Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno says he felt "rage" at the start of the season when frequently benched by Brendan Rodgers who favoured Joe Gomez but he feels he has the complete trust of new manager Jurgen Klopp.

Rodgers elected to start summer signing Joe Gomez at left-back for the first five games of the season. Gomez performed well in his games and looks like a very astute purchase therefore and despite a strong showing in the Europa League against Bordeaux, Moreno's opportunities were limited

But Gomez has since suffered a knee injury, ruling him out for an extended period and Rodgers has been replaced, creating an opportunity for Moreno to perform and get the time on the pitch he wants. However, his defensive weaknesses are frequently exposed particularly with a missed tackle in the build up of play which led to the first goal in the 2-1 defeat to crystal Palace

I personally believe that Moreno would be better used as a wide midfielder as less defensive responsibility would allow him to make full use of his attacking talents and cover the weaker aspects of his game

Liverpool play Manchester this week in what should be an interesting game between two of the leagues most attacking teams. In addition to this both teams will be looking at claiming the league title for the season making this a significant game.
