Euro 2016 Team Analysis : France

There has been much debate ofvthe Grance team that Deschamps has selected for the tournament. There are no doubts that the team is talented but there are notable omissions from the squad

France arguably has the strongest midfield of any team in the tournament with Kante, Matuidi, Pogba and Payet providing strong defensive and attacking options. In matches leading up to the tournament France have played a 4-3-3 formation and have looked balanced and strong in both attack and defence.

Despite France looking very strong they are not without weakness. They can be exploied down the wings as Evra and Sagna show their age, in addition to this they are without Varane who's versatility has led to him being touted as one of the best young centre backs in Europe. Deschamps made the decision to leave Benzema out of the final squad, this may be a decision he will regret. Benzema has proven himself as a regular goalscorer and has just finished a Champion's League winning season with Real Madrid

Home advantage cannot be underestimated, tbis in combination with their strong squad means France are likely to have a deep run in the tournament
